The Water Service Regulatory Authority (WSRA) monitors and reports annually on the national water services performance in Kosovo and for this purpose it has developed a full suite of performance indicators that include operational, financial, customer service and service standards.

Through Performance Monitoring, WSRA aims to measure the performance of seven Regional Water Companies (RWCs), with the sole purpose of facilitating their performance improvement. Performance monitoring is also important for the fact of increasing the responsibility and transparency of the RWCs to the general public.

Measurement and evaluation of annual RWC's performance is based on the methodology adopted by the WSRA, which is in line with good international practices being implemented by the regulators of this sector, focusing on specific regulatory requirements with specific levels of services and cost implications for the customer.

Therefore, the concept of evaluation of company performance that operates well and provides efficient services are set for: Water Supply and Wastewater Services, based on water quality, service levels, coverage, and commercial and financial efficiency.

Publication of the WSRA Annual Report on the Water Company Performance is consistent with the best regulatory practices to demonstrate transparency in the sector, promote the management accountability of the service provider and encourage performance enhancement. Also, the Annual Performance Report is an important source of information for all stakeholders.
